In conjunction with Budget 2020, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced a grant initiative to support local SMEs adopt digitalization under the SME Business Digitalization Grant.
To all aspiring entrepreneurs, this is for YOU. Take your business to the next level with the highlights that you might find useful to digitalize your business.
All About SME Digitalization Initiative
This initiative gives you a grant amounting up to to 50% or a maximum of RM5,000 of your total invoice amount. You’ll get to enjoy great deals on digital business solutions from a wide list of panels endorsed by MDEC. The range of digitalization areas include:
- Electronic Point of Sales (e-POS) System
- Human Resource Payroll System (HR) / Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
- Digital Marketing / Sales
- Procurement
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Accounting & Tax
Eligibility
To know if you’re eligible for the Penjana Grant, see below to check if you tick all the boxes:
- Your company is at least 60% owned by Malaysians.
- Your company is registered under the relevant laws of Malaysia.
- Your company has been in operation for at least one (1) year.
- For companies in operation for 1 year, you must have a minimum annual sales turnover of RM 100,000.
- For companies in operation for 2 years or more, you are required to have a minimum annual sales turnover of RM 50,000
Required documents
Once you’ve met all the criteria, take the next step into adulthood is to prepare the following documents for your Penjana Grant registration:
- Have a completed SME Digitalization Initiative Application Form ready with you. Click here to download the application form
- Prep a copy of your Identity Card or Passport of Director(s) / Partner(s) / Proprietor(s), whichever is applicable.
- Have a copy of business registration licenses (CCM, Form A/B, Form 24 & 49 and M&A or any similar forms under the Companies Act 2016).
- Audited financial statement for the last financial year and the latest management account or evidence of sales turnover (if any).
- Your company’s bank statement for the last two (2) months.
- Your company’s profile (if any).
- Invoice/billing and service agreement from authorized vendors listed by MDEC.
