If you’re not already on the K-drama bandwagon, then let’s get you on it! Trust us, you won’t know what you’re missing until you’ve started watching one. Before we begin, here’s what you need to know about Korean drama.

Originated in South Korea, K-dramas are scripted serials and usually have up to 24 episodes per season. Thanks to licensing agreements, they are dubbed and included subtitles to cater a wide audience base.

To get you started, here are the 3 top shows you should check out first.

Bride of Habaek

The spin-off to 2006’s Bride of the Water God sees Shin Se-Kyung as the soon-to-be Bride of the Water God - Habaek. Like its predecessor, it’s about love only this time it’s more lighthearted and comedic. If you’re into elemental gods who lose their powers and are made mortal, who then fall in love with a human then you won’t regret this.

Kim Shin, a goblin who lives with an amnesiac grim reaper who is in charge of taking deceased souls. Shin yearns for the mortal life, but he needs a human bride in order to end his long life.

Yes, that's the plot but there is a reason why this show is rated so highly. Give it a try

Descendants Of The Sun

Can a special forces captain and a doctor possibly be lovers in a war-torn country? It's world's apart when they realise the difference in their jobs may cause a rift that seems impossible to close.

If you're into some action and romance, then you'll definitely love this.
