Troubleshooting Slow Internet Issues

'Slow internet' issues can be frustrating, so here are some ways to help you troubleshoot the problem.




  • Web pages will not load.
  • Web pages take a long time to display.
  • Downloads take a long time to complete.




  • You have exceeded your Internet speed quota.
    • Note: If you've received a text message that you've exceeded your Internet speed threshold, you will experience slow speed. You can renew your rate plan or perform Internet Top Up; otherwise you will continue to experience reduced speed until your next renewal date of your plan.
  • Your network signal indicates you are in G (GPRS) or 2G (EDGE) mode.
  • Low signal strength.
  • Network congestion.
  • Internet browser problem.
  • Problem with the device capabilities or setup.
  • Multiple applications are running in the background, which are eating up your Internet quota.
  • Internet speed on a wireless network constantly fluctuates. It is common to have momentary lags in speed. If you continue to have slow Internet speed, the issue could be related to any of the possible causes above.




  1. Make sure your device has at least 2 signal bars.



  1. What type of device are you using? Check the user manual of your device to determine if it supports 2G or 3G or 4G / LTE.

  1. If you are using an iPhone, check Apple iOS Software Overview: iPhone to ensure your device is running the most current OS version.



  1. Turn off Wi-Fi.

  1. Make sure that 3G / LTE is enabled on your device. Refer to the user manual of your device for instructions.

  1. Clear your browser history, cookies, and cache.

  1. Check for applications running in the background that could be using up your phone’s available bandwidth. If you have third party applications installed, uninstall them and see if the slow Internet speed persists.

*Note: Also check to see if your device is currently downloading any application as this can cause lagging speed.

  1. Turn your device off and on, then test the Internet speed.
  2. To check if your location has 3G or LTE service, click here <http://new.digi.com.my/cs/Satellite/ecomm_C/services/default/4g-lte-coverage>. Zoom to your location, and tick the 3G and LTE filters to discover if your location has either service.



  1. Launch your device’s web browser, and go to: http://i.dslr.net/iphone_speedtest.html

Alternately, you can go to Google Play Store for Android devices to download the Speedtest.net app. Best to download the app over Wi-Fi



  1. Run the speed test.



  1.  Call Digi Helpline (016-2211 800) or  submit a report through MyDigi app Support> Network Coverage

Just DIGI internet problem. Even my granma on wheelchair go faster than DIGI 4G internet.

Why intenet 64 kbps now not surf fast like before...its 3-4 days ago i start cannot whatsapp..slow very slow...before this im using basic internet only i can play my coc games but now cannot..

Sy punya line internet & network pun sama..bila sy transfer pergi johor,macam duduk dlm gua...internet & line semua down,sy punya digi line is sarawak line..adakah sy perlu tukar simcard baru? Tq

Hi! Line internet saya sangatttt lambat..even kadang2 connection lost tapi 4g @ h+....youtube tidak dapat buka buffering dan kadang2 error. Goggle pun sama tidak dapat walau line 4g @ h+

Even connected 4g with full bar, the download speed less than 3mbps.

remaining data quota 50G.

when just change to digi 3 months back, can get 30-40mnps, but now less than 3mbps.

Dear Digi, im staying at sri pinang aprtment,setia alam which is at 4th floor.I have to keep restart my network to get 4g and it will drop to 3g after a few mins. And A 3 bar 4g barely loads anything. im using iphone 7.I understand this probably the limitation of living in an apartment, but before i consider other options is there anything that can be done?

Kenapa line digi tempat sy sekarang ni dh mcm siput.. 2 3 bulan dn sebelum ni ok jer..  broadband asyik 3G sj.. dulu 4G.. kadang2 dkt broadband tulis 4G tp internet xder..  kalu dkt phone plak tetiba line putus.. sy area kg pdng mengkuang bukit payong marang terengganu.

hi digi.kenapa bila waktu malam selalu sangat internet bermasalah.line tak stable selalu drop ke 3g menyebabkan masalah untuk accsess web.nak kene tunggu line 4g baru ok.area bandar sri sendayan, negeri sembilan.


lagi satu tlg upgrade liputan digi di area kuala pilah.line tidak memuaskan.terima kasih

  • hi saya mau report coverage issue di tempat saya..alamat felda maokil 85300 labis Johor.sudah 1 hari tempat saya tiada network digi nak call orang pon xboleh tolong perbaiki network di tempat saya  terima kasih

Hi epirkacang. Cuba cari signal secara manual melalui settings telefon terlebih dahulu.


Kalau masih tak dapat, hantarkan aduan rasmi melalui aplikasi MyDigi; Menu>>Support>>Network Coverage. Aduan akan terus dihantar ke bahagian teknikal dan status aduan akan dikemaskini di dalam My Case Status selepas beberapa hari. Mohon maaf dengan kesulitan yang dialami.

baru baru ini sahaja line digi di kawasan rumah saya menjadi sangat perlahan.saya telah melanggan perkhidmatad internet tanpa batasan untuk social dan youtube tetapi ianya tetap perlahan. ini merugikan dan hak saya sedang dicabuli. saya berharap masalah seperti ini dapat diselesaikan. alamay rumah saya
