Enjoy VoWiFi/WiFi calling on your iPhone 6

No signal, no problem! iPhone 6 (and newer iPhone models) users can now make calls and send text messages by just connecting to their WiFi connection. Simply activate WiFi Calling on your iPhone and connect it to your WiFi to enjoy calls and text messaging!

To use WiFi Calling, make sure you are using an Apple iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S Plus, SE, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus and X with iOS 10.3.2 and carrier version 28.3.


Here’s how you can activate your WiFi Calling on your iPhone:







Q1. What is WiFi Calling?
A1. Digi WiFi Calling is the service that allows customers to talk and text over an active WiFi connection. WiFi Calling lets customers talk and text from indoor locations without strong cellular signals. The technology will turn all WiFi signal worldwide to become a Digi connection.


Q2. What are the benefits of WiFi Calling to Digi customers?
A2. WiFi Calling will provide below benefits to Digi customers:
- Make calls and send texts from anywhere
- Seamless experience – no app required and a seamless handover


Q3. Who can use and enjoy Digi WiFi Calling?
A3. Digi WiFi Calling is available for all Digi Postpaid™, Digi Prepaid™ and Business Voice Plan subscribers. To enjoy the services, they must fulfill the criteria below:
- Active VoLTE subscription
- Connected to WiFi connection (Home/Office/Public)
- Using certified phone with updated software
- Enabled WiFi Calling feature on smartphone


Q4. How to enable to Digi WiFi Calling?
- Make sure you are an active VoLTE offering user and using certified a phone with updated software.
- Turn on WiFi Calling option in the phone: (One Time Only)
a)Apple iPhone : Settings > Phone > WiFi Calling
- Connect to WiFi at Home, Office or Public.


Q5. What type of WiFi can be used?
A5. You can connect WiFi Calling to these types of WiFi providers:
- Home/Office WiFi – i.e. Unifi, Streamyx, Timedotcom, etc
- Public WiFi (Captive) – Airport, McDonald, Starbuck, Smart Selangor, etc


Q6. How do I know whether I have connected to WiFi Calling?
A6. WiFi Calling icon would appear at phone top bar once it connected.


Q7. I am connected to WiFi Calling and have good cellular coverage, which services will be used when I make a call?
A7. WiFI Calling is the preferred services if both services available.


Q8. I am a Digi Prepaid™ customer and my line was barred due to zero balance. Can I still enjoy WiFi Calling?
A8. Once your line has been barred, no call, SMS or data usage can be made. You are still be able to receive call and SMS.


Q9. Is WiFi Calling available while I roam abroad?
A9. At the moment, this service is only available for local WiFi only.


Q10. Will I be charged to enable WiFi Calling?
Q10. No. Like VoLTE, the service is absolutely FREE for Digi customers.


Q11. Will my call and SMS rates be different with WiFi Calling?
A11. No. You will enjoy the same rates as you enjoyed for your 3G/VoLTE call and SMS.


Q12. Why are my community zone calls charged at normal rates instead of 12cent/min?
A12. Community Zone special rate is not applicable for WiFi Calling usage.

Regarding to the answer for Q2 'Local call rates for WiFi Calling from calls abroad'. What I can understand is  like U Mobile, when you calling Malaysia number via Wifi Calling while you oversea. If will charge the local rate instead of IDD.




But, what I get the answer from Live Chat is;

On latest carrier 28.3 and enabled wifi calling but doesnt seems to be working. Normal Digi wording on the signal bar

Quite convenience option, since my home wall is too thick. I am staying in underground of my house. Since my house is 2 1/2 storey house. I am inside the lowest floor. The signal is no service here but the wifi in my home is strong. My home is using Unifi. After I found this option, Digi was offered Wi-Fi Calling, now I can call/receive calls & sms by Wifi. So I can now do online shopping, then request TAC for online banking at anywhere inside my house without take out my phone then go outside to find signal again.

I am on Prepaid.  Active line.  Following the instruction as stated above, on iPhone 6.  Still not showing DIGI WIFI CALLING.

I have solved the problem.


Throught CHAT function on Digi app, CS has activated VOLTE.  After restart, DIGI WIGI Calling is working now.

So, when is DiGi going to enable VoWiFi while roaming? Strangely, this feature has been available on u-mobile since they rolled out VoWiFi ages ago...
