Did you experience no network coverage on your recent visit to Singapore? In case you’re wondering why, Singapore’s mobile network operators (MNOs) have closed their 2G connection starting 1 April 2017.
The reason is simple; stopping the 2G network will improve the speed and capacity of the newer mobile services.
If you’re making your way to Singapore, stay connected with these tips: 1) Make sure that your SIM card supports 3G/4G network.
2) All smartphones supports 3G/4G network. But if you’re using older mobile phones, check with the manufacturer to see if your phone can support 3G/4G network.
3) Using dual SIM cards on your smartphone? Note that only one SIM card can be connected to 3G/4G network at a time. So make sure you choose the network you want to stay connected to while you’re abroad.
