Hello,

I have sent in an email about this complaint but nobody has responded.

I am currently overseas and I topped up RM30 on my account on the 20/3/18. Then on 3/4/18, I was charged RM25 credit even though my SIM card is safely kept in my wallet and not in use. I checked my itemised billing and it showed:

03/04/2018 11:31international roaming MT voice(my number)00:08 min.RM 2.50
03/04/2018 11:31international roaming MT voice(my number)00:08 min.RM 2.50
03/04/2018 11:31international roaming MT voice(my number)00:08 min.RM 2.50
03/04/2018 11:31international roaming MT voice(my number)00:09 min.RM 2.50
03/04/2018 11:32international roaming MT voice(my number)00:08 min.RM 2.50
03/04/2018 11:32international roaming MT voice(my number)00:08 min.RM 2.50
03/04/2018 11:32international roaming MT voice(my number)00:09 min.RM 2.50
03/04/2018 15:24international roaming MT voice(my number)00:08 min.RM 2.50
03/04/2018 15:24international roaming MT voice(my number)00:08 min.RM 2.50
03/04/2018 15:24international roaming MT voice(my number)00:09 min.RM 2.50

why have I been charged RM25 for all this calls? all of them take place 4 times in a minute - is this some sort of scam?

I have tried deactivating my international roaming but I am not allowed to do it either.

I look forward to your response

Hi vsoong, I am sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. Have you tried emailing help@digi.com.my and request them to disable your roaming? I did it when I was in Hong Kong and they got it done within 2 days.

thanks for your suggestion.

but i wanted to know what all these charges are. it seems to be that if you have more than RM10 in your credit - Digi has some automatic program to keep connecting to the phone (each attempt will cost RM2.50) until your credit is less than RM10. I suspect if I had reloaded more than RM30 - I would have more of these unexplained charges. It looks like a very dishonest way to drain your credit.

I was hoping someone from DIgi would be able to clarify this to me. in the meantime, i will try emailing them about this as well.

Highlighted

Voicemail and missed call alerts rely on call forwarding network feature to function. While you may have kept the SIM card away, but as long as the SIM has hooked up to a roaming network, call forwarding will occur from the foreign network.
You can control voicemail feature from *128# menu.
If you need urgent assistance overseas, use Live Chat from 10am to 9pm daily, Malaysian time.
