We’ve waited 615 days. And… ¡ǝɹǝɥ sı ʇı

The wait for the new season has been way, way too long. But it’s finally here! Netflix has released all the episodes for season 3 and we are all so excited!

Is Mike and Eleven getting together? Is Dr Brenner really dead? Will we see other test subjects other than Kali? There’s so many questions! But for those that have yet to see any episodes of Stranger Things, here’s all you need to know before you dive right into the series.

Who are the main characters?

The awesome foursome!

“A friend is someone that you’d do anything for. And they never break a promise. That’s super important because friends tell each other things; things that parents don’t know.” And that is what Will, Mike, Lucas and Dustin are to each other. The best of friends.

When they’re in danger you can’t help but root for them as they fight against the evils of the small town of Hawkins. Each of them bring their own unique personality to the group and you can bet we’ll definitely be waiting to see them in the newest season!

Who is Eleven?

What comes after 10?

Raised in a laboratory without any form of socialisation, Eleven starts out the series being socially awkward at first, but as she starts to hang out with the guys, she starts to get closer with them.

Being extremely fond of Eggos, she is actually a test experiment from Hawkins National Laboratory, where she was born with special mental abilities and powers. Her powers also allows her to travel into different dimensions, like The Upside Down.

What is “The Upside Down”?

The Upside Down.png

Dark and creepy.

Picture the world on a piece of paper (Not a flat earth, you conspiracy theorists). Everything drawn out. Now flip the piece of paper. And you’ll get The Upside Down.

Not much is known about The Upside Down actually. It is basically an alternate dimension of Hawkins itself but more creepy and dark, with everything seeming like it’s connect to one hive mind. The air itself is toxic. And connection towards the real world is limited.

Oh, and it’s also home to The Demogorgon and The Mind Flayer.

What is a “Demogorgon”?

Kinda looks like a Rafflesia plant.

The biggest flower in the world. That has feet. And hands. And wants to eat you.

Coming from The Upside Down, the creature has a weird almost human like body, but his head just looks gruesome. The Demogorgan was the main antagonist throughout the first season of Stranger Things, feeding and killing different creatures and characters including Barbs. Ultimately, after a fight against the boys, Eleven disintegrate the Demogorgon for good and it disappears.

We probably won’t see the Demogorgon any more in the series, but who knows? Maybe it’ll be back?

What is “The Mind Flayer”?

A… Bigger... Rafflesia... Plant..?

Not much is known about the Mind Flayer. Another creature from The Upside Down, it is gigantic and has multiples tentacle like coils as it arms. It can possess people’s visions and mind, even forcing them to do things against their will (Get it? Cause it possessed Will? Heh).

At the end of season 2, it survives the enclosing of the gate and hovers over The Upside Down version of Hawkins Middle School. Seems like season 3 will hold the answers to the questions surrounding The Mind Flayer and it’s intentions.
