Which Of Your Favourite Characters Belong To The Umbrella Academy?

Do you know what’s a great match? Surprise babies and magic. Enter The Umbrella Academy.

The Netflix-exclusive series follows the storyline of The Umbrella Academy, a group of 7 “heroes” all born with abilities beyond the norm, as they try to stop the apocalypse from happening. Brought together by the eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves, he actually wanted to find all 43, but only managed to find 7 of them. So where the other 36? Perhaps they’ve always been around… lurking in other shows. Here’s a list of famous characters that could have been part of The Umbrella Academy.

We don’t know anything about Saitama’s backstory. He has no parents to show where he came from, no relatives to talk about his life, and no lore behind his uniqueness and power. He himself claims that with 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and a 10 kilometer run every day you can actually reach his strength (and also his lack of hair), but is that really the truth behind his powers or is he unknowingly an Umbrella Academy baby?

The timeline in Stranger Things fits perfectly with The Umbrella Academy, taking place in the mid-1980s. Plus, Eleven shows powers in the show which are never really explained. Even though Eleven’s mom had supposedly gone through a normal pregnancy in the TV series, it could easily have been a lie to hide the research facility’s secret (also her mother had been shocked into a vegetative-like state, so we’ll never actually know).

Telekinesis, levitation, teleportation; you name it, she’s probably got it. Eleven has so many abilities and is so powerful that we have to assume if she were in The Umbrella Academy, she would take Luther’s place as One.

Batman’s greatest nemesis in the clown-faced makeup would be perfectly explained as part of the magical births. No history, no parents, not even a real name. But you doubt that he has powers. Isn’t he just a psychopath?, you say. A psychotic intellect, a lack of fear, and a resistance to pain shows all the signs of superheroes abilities gone wrong. If he were in The Umbrella Academy, he’d be one of the smartest and bravest heroes in the house.

A member of the trio that defeated Voldemort, Hermione is one of the most brilliant witches in the wizarding world. While not much is said about her parents in the series, we know that they are non-Magical Muggles. How did she get her magical powers and grow to be such a powerful witch? And how were her Muggle parents seemingly not shocked by this development? Could she have been part of the wave of magical births?

The ice queen. The teaser for Frozen 2 was just released recently and maybe the next movie might show more on her backstory, by for now, there is only speculation as to how she got her powers. Why was she the only one with powers, when her sister Anna seems like… a normal non-magical human being? With the ability to create and manipulate both ice and snow, Elsa would be an incredible and powerful addition to The Umbrella Academy. Maybe she could’ve been best friends with Vanya and stopped the apocalypse?

Ability to breathe underwater. Can be ripped to pieces and still survive. Superhuman speed. Super stretchable. And most importantly… Expert Fry Cook. Need we say more?
