Other than just roses and regular dinner.

Love is in the air. Valentine’s Day has arrived and with it comes the usual date night out and roses to give your significant others. But if you’re looking for something more fun and out of the ordinary, here are a few ideas on what you could do on this special day!

1. Adopt a baby orangutan

Sometimes, even the most random things can turn a normal day into an amazing one! One of it includes adopting a baby orangutan. Definitely out of the ordinary but it’s an experience worth sharing with a loved one.

Established in 1964, the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Sabah is home to orangutans which had been orphaned. At the centre, they’re taught how to cope in the wild in the care of the keepers.

As an attraction, visitors can get the chance to observe the daily lives of orangutans within the forest. And if you’re really interested to get involved, you can ‘adopt’ a baby orangutan! For a fee, you can basically sponsor a baby orangutan and in return, you’ll get a personalized certificate! You’ll be able to say you’re the proud parent of an orangutan!

2. Build terrariums together

Nothing better than creating a piece of art together to get to know each other right?

A decorative or even lively piece for any household, Ohsum Mossum Terrarium organizes workshop to teach you to create your own personal terrariums! Whether you’ve got an interest in ‘mini-planting’ or just want something to add a little more green to your bedroom, you’ll have something you can bring back home as a ‘Memoriam’ of the date.

3. Unique Romantic Restaurants

Step out of another conventional date and go on gastronomical adventures in KL’s most unique restaurants!

Dining In The Dark brings people their meals and experience of taste in total darkness! If you’re planning to take things to another level...literally, Dining In The Sky let’s you dine lavishly whilst levitated 50 meters off the ground. Not a fan of heights? There’s also an innovative dining experience in KL known as “The Le Petit Chef”. It showcases a small animated chef, brought to life by 3D projection and prepares food on your dinner plate. How cool is that?!

Spice up your date with a new experience and try out these illuminating experiences!

4. Looking up to the sky

Okay, maybe not literally looking up to the skies.

A hilltop town with traditional-style buildings linking back to its historical roots, Kuala Kubu Bharu is the ideal stress-free getaway for the perfect date away from the city life. A short hour’s drive from KL, beautiful scenery awaits and of course, a clear night sky that showcases the beauty of stargazing.

The fact that the outskirts of the town are dimly lit with little to no light pollution makes it perfect for even a long drive away from the busy life of the city.

If you’re looking to chill and relax with your significant other this Valentine’s Day, why not under a sky full of stars?
