1. Set achievable and measurable goals
Be specific and set a measurement to your goals. Don’t keep it generic as you’ll have trouble determining what needs to be done. For example, if you wish to live a healthy lifestyle and lose weight, set a fixed number! Telling yourself that you want to lose 5kg sets you with a definite target to work towards!
2. Plan it out
Planning to redecorate your room? Or are you waiting to get your hands on the Playstation 5? Or maybe you’ve finally decided to upgrade your old phone to the iPhone 12 and just don’t know where to start.
That’s where planning it out comes in! After the first step, which is knowing what you want exactly, plan your journey. Start with marking on a calendar, or be time-specific when setting aside budgets or goals. It keeps you disciplined and slowly but surely, you’ll get where you want to be.

3. Get an accountability partner
The journey to achieving our new year’s resolution can become a little foggy or can sometimes also feel a little lonely. To help keep yourself motivated and goals in sight, you can talk to your family, besties or somebody you trust to help keep you accountable. These are the people who will consistently check-up on you and keep you motivated to keep pushing towards the goal! It also makes the journey feel more fun. 4. Be adventurous about it
Have you ever planned to spend more time with your family and ended up just sitting down with them in front of the television most of the time? For most people, that might be the case and it can sound a little dull or unproductive.

By being adventurous and exploring new methods, you can motivate yourself by creating something to look forward to and also create new memories to be shared along the way. There are always different sources of inspiration that can be discovered with a little thought (and maybe some Googling).
5. Reward yourself
At the end of the day, it's also important to remember to affirm and treat yourself to a reward for staying dedicated. Now that you’ve achieved it, treat yourself!
