Everything You Need to Know When You Change Your Digi Plan

by Community Manager ‎20-01-2021 11:09 AM - edited ‎20-01-2021 01:21 PM

If you’ve recently changed your phone plan with Digi and need to know what changes to expect when you see your first bill, fret not! We’ve come up with a quick guide for you. This is for all plan switches, whether you’re moving from prepaid to postpaid or upgrading your postpaid plans.

Postpaid to Postpaid

When you switch to another postpaid plan, ensure that:

Your line status is active  Capture.PNG

There is no overdue bill Capture.PNG

You have not changed your plan more than twice in a month Capture.PNG

We encourage that you use up any remaining freebies, rebates, internet quota, quota top-up, and roll-over quota before changing plans as it will be forfeited upon cancellation. Your subscription for Roam Monthly (if any) will also be canceled.

Click here to find out how to claim your freebies in the app

Signing up for a new postpaid plan will entitle you to new freebies such as pro-rated calls and SMS. Your credit limit will change automatically according to the new plan and FULL internet quota will be granted.

The monthly fee for both your previous and new plan will also be pro-rated! Here is the formula to calculate pro-rated monthly fees:

Number of Used Period x Monthly Fee / Number of Days in Billing Period

Example of a bill with a pro-rated monthly fee when you switch from Digi Postpaid 58 to Digi Postpaid 80 below:

Postpaid to Prepaid

For postpaid customers who switch to prepaid plans, ensure that:

All outstanding balance has been settledCapture.PNG

A few things to take note of:

- This change of plan can only be carried out at Digi Stores

- Freebies will be forfeited upon cancellation of your current plan. We encourage that you use the freebies before switching!

- You will be subject to a penalty fee if you are under any existing phone contract.

- You will not be able to revert to your previous plan if it is no longer offered

Your monthly fee for your last bill will be pro-rated as well. Here is the formula to calculate pro-rated monthly fees:

Number of Used Period x Monthly Fee / Number of Days in Billing Period

Check out the sample below of a bill with a pro-rated monthly fee for postpaid to prepaid:

the post could be informative, but failed to address few areas:-

Subline

if we have subline, especially those legacy plan, when main line package is changing, what happens to the subline? when we involve  upgrade of plan

Limitation

what if the user choose to downgrade the plan - main line, what happen to subline too?

Difference answer

i have encoutered this when asked or called digi CS, few versions answer  were given! so if we made to change the plan, but end up it is being otherwise, who is going to bear the responsiblity and unnecessary increase in the monthly commitment due to poor customer service and wrong information given by the customer service!

Pls answer this clearly in writing!
