2G services no longer available in Singapore

Did you experience no network coverage on your recent visit to Singapore? In case you’re wondering why, Singapore’s mobile network operators (MNOs) have closed their 2G connection starting 1 April 2017.

The reason is simple; stopping the 2G network will improve the speed and capacity of the newer mobile services.

If you’re making your way to Singapore, stay connected with these tips:
1) Make sure that your SIM card supports 3G/4G network.

2) All smartphones supports 3G/4G network. But if you’re using older mobile phones, check with the manufacturer to see if your phone can support 3G/4G network.

3) Using dual SIM cards on your smartphone? Note that only one SIM card can be connected to 3G/4G network at a time. So make sure you choose the network you want to stay connected to while you’re abroad.
