On 13 March 2013, we launched a bold initiative to change how digital music can be accessed and enjoyed by the Malaysian public. We decided to carry digital music across the Internet using our network to our customers.
No, that’s right – you read that correctly. But I’ll reiterate it – Digi now lets customers enjoy music from the best music apps on their smart phones at ZERO data charges.
Of course, this is all conditional. I hear you exasperatedly saying “I knew it,” but hold your horses! The requirements are actually quite logical. Stay with me:
ONE. You need to be a Digi customer.
This one is obvious. We do not and cannot control data charges imposed by other networks. If they don’t want to give you free music, come drop by one of our Digi Stores and give our network a try. Our Retail Specialists will get it all sorted for you.
If you are already on Digi’s network, and you are still spending your data on music streaming, I’d recommend a quick look at http://digi.my/musicfreedom. As how Al from Agrabah puts it, “A whole new world…”
TWO. You need to have an active data plan.
That’s right. You need to be subscribed to a mobile line with an active data plan. How else do we zero-charge your data access if you don’t have data access to begin with? Yes, this may come as a sore point to some, but this is a very functional point. To draw an analogy, the Neutron car company cannot give you a rebate off their latest Epic car if you’re not buying a car from them to begin with.
THREE. You need to be on a consumer plan.
If you are on a Digi Business plan, you are on a great start. We carefully factor in a variety of perks and services to provide for easy and convenient business communications needs. We stretch ourselves to ensure that we provide (a) best value, that we give (b) free devices, and that you are (c) always connected to your company and your customers. Free music simply does not fit into this matrix, and should not replace any of the three core offerings.
FOUR. This is a promotional offer.
Digi Music Freedom is free for a 90-day subscription between 13 March and 30 June 2015.
Why is this a promotional offer instead of a permanent one? Largely because we’re waiting to gauge how much you like Digi Music Freedom. We are carefully listening to your feedback. If you like it, we will continue grow Digi Music Freedom to enable more freebies. If you don’t like it, we will tweak it towards your preference. The landscape for this is still pliable.
Can this remain perpetually free? Maybe, maybe not. If you tell us how much you use and love the service, who knows… anything can happen, right?

So what’s the low down on Digi Music Freedom?
It’s an effort to make legal music more affordable to Malaysians. It’s an effort to make music discovery easy and enjoyable. It’s an effort to help musicians get recognized and remunerated for their efforts. It’s an effort to offer choices to music lovers.
As the name implies, it’s an effort to free music from the traditional shackles that come with it.
Currently, Digi Music Freedom supports Deezer, Spotify, Rdio, KKBox, SoundHound, hitz.fm, ERA, MY FM, BE-AT.tv and Q.us.

It's a great app and promotion. I really hope that it will last forever, or continued with minimal fee (RM5 per month, perhaps?).

@Wahizul, could give it another shot, and if it still doesn't work, could you email your rate plan, mobtel number, and device model to email@example.com?

i cannot connect to spotify while my quota for music feedom still available. It only play for mere 2 seconds, and then disconnect from internet. I got 3 bar of signal so there is no connection problems.
